The Needle Drop: 05-17-08
This week, some grunge-inspired pop rock from No Age, and the eclectic sounds of Tim Fite. The Texas shoegaze trio, A Faulty Chromosome, will be coming to New Haven's Cafe 9 on May 20th. We feature a bit of their music, and another noise-latent album from the California rock duo, No age.
No Age's Nouns has a few chord progressions on loan from the 90s grunge era, but their experimentation with guitar loops, noise, and droning hums bring their unrelenting punk pop to another level.
We've also the highly-textured Fair Ain't Fair: a new album from Tim Fite. Numerous styles of pop music come together on this LP and make a mixture of folk, hip hop, country, and rock that actually works.
